Theodoros Lianos

Theodoros Lianos is Professor Emeritus of Political Economy, with a distinguished academic and research career in Greece and abroad. He graduated from the Department of Economics of the Athens School of Economics and Business and holds both a Master’s degree and a PhD in Economics from the University of North Carolina, USA. He has served as Professor at the University of California, Davis and at the Athens University of Economics and Business, while also holding positions as Visiting Scholar at Duke University and Visiting Professor at universities in the United States, Ireland, and other countries.

His academic work focuses on Political Economy, Labour Economics, Macroeconomics, Agricultural Economics, and labour migration. He has authored textbooks, monographs, and numerous scientific articles in international journals, with publications covering topics such as labour markets, migration, economic development, agricultural economics, and social justice.

He has held significant academic and administrative positions, including Vice Chancellor of the Athens School of Economics and Business, President of the Technical University of Crete, President of DIKATSA, Chair of the Department of Economics at the Athens University of Economics and Business, as well as Chairman of the Board and Scientific Director of the Centre of Planning and Economic Research (KEPE). His work has received international citations and includes extensive academic and public policy publications.
